2014 Autumn BBQ on The Village Green

A great way to end a glorious summer! The sun came out and a great time was had by all. What a spread of sausages, burgers and salads followed by an array of puddings. 75 people turned up and went away full and happy!

July 2014 Cream Teas on the Village Green

The annual cream teas on the Green were held in July. Another great success and a lovely relaxed way of meeting people.

September 2013 Annual BBQ

Bawdrip’s annual BBQ was one of the best ever. The sun broke through and around 60 people tucked in to a superb BBQ of burgers and sausages with a tremendous selection of salads and puddings. Just over £300 was raised for Bawdrip Church funds and a once again the Church was at the centre of a lovely village ‘get together’. Huge thanks to Jane and Simon Peel for hosting the event, to Bill Hubbock for BBQing and for an army of volunteers who made things or helped wash up.

2013 Cream Teas on the Village Green

July saw the annual cream tea fest on the village green at Bawdrip. The sun beat down on a good crowd of villagers (and friends from Woolavington and Cossington) as vast quantities of cream teas and cakes were consumed. Thanks to Jenny and her catering volunteers, to Andy and Lorna and the visiting accordian players who provided superb background music for the afternoon. The raffle was suspiciously won by one of the church wardens who had no hesitation in choosing the whisky. If you see the older of the two staggering around the village you’ll know why!

2013 BAWDRIP VILLAGE CHARABANC OUTING TO KNIGHTSHAYES, TIVERTON

Bawdrip Church organised an old style village coach trip to mimic the old village charabanc outings of the past. Despite the somewhat inclement weather a great day was had at Knightshayes near Tiverton. A big thank you to Don and Sally for lending us their coach for the day!

2013 Bawdrip Sing-a-Long Night

Bawdrip held it's annual dinner and sing-a-long on April 20th in the Parish Hall. Jenny and helpers prepared a wonderful Austrian themed meal of goulash with new potatoes and red cabbage followed by authentic apple strudel (made in Germany according to the note on the back!) As an added twist, on Lorna's recommendation, the goulash was pepped up with smoked paprika which did add a great flavour.

Following dinner, we were then entertained as we sang along to everyone's favourite Sound of Music numbers. Never has a room of 40 people sounded so good belting out such classics as 'Climb every mountain' and 'I am sixteen going on seventeen' although checking round the room I think most had done that some time ago!

There was a good turnout of nuns (pictured with Monsignor Sam are the Sisters), big hats, homemade pinafores, carpet bags and of course a lonely goatherd.

Thank you to all who supported this event, prepared the food, decorated to hall (thank you Tricia Green for the authentic Austrian posters) and cleared away after - thanks to everyone's efforts we raised around £200

2013 Annual Parish Council Meeting

April 2013 saw the Annual Parish Council Meeting where we approved the Annual Report and Accounts, elected PCC members and officers and celebrated the last year in the life of the Church. A good turn out enjoyed refreshments after the formal bit of the meeting and viewed a photographic display of events from the last year.

Regular coffee mornings are held to promote friendships across the village and to help raise funds for the Church

A bacon and sausage butty morning in March was a great success!
