Greetings from the Benefice of Woolavington with Cossington and Bawdrip (soon to expand)
A warm welcome from your Church of England, in fact there are three churches here working as a benefice (or group), in this beautiful part of Somerset.
Our vicar is Kirsty Wells. Tel: 01278 452656 email@example.com
I have recently taken up the post as Priest-in-Charge of the Benefice of Woolavington with Cossington and Bawdrip and I am also overseeing the Benefice of Puriton with Pawlett until I can be licensed to all 5 churches.
While we are unable to meet in person at this time due to the on going pandemic we will be meeting to worship together on Zoom and via Facebook live Monday – Thursday at 9.30am, and Sundays at 10.00am. If you would like the Zoom link, please email me. The Facebook Page is called ‘Woolavington, Cossington, Bawdrip, Puriton and Pawlett Churches’
Prior to this appointment I was chaplain at Musgrove Park Hospital having previously worked in Salisbury Diocese.
I am looking forward to getting involved in village life and hope you will find me to be open and approachable as we share together in life in the villages. I will be looking to hold a safe space in which everyone feels able to ask questions.
While everyone is welcome to attend the churches for worship, I don’t expect this to be the only place for meeting with you – I am passionate about working in schools and being involved with activities in the community. If you bump into me (well may be not literally – as we’re still social distancing as I write) please do introduce yourself.

During Covid restrictions online worship is being held on Sundays at 10am. See here for details: /content/pages/documents/1610632879.docx
Whether you have come to this website to find out more about our beliefs, services and events, to enquire about baptism (christening), weddings, funerals or memorial services or just to book a hall, we hope you will look around.

There is a lot going on across the benefice, from traditional church Holy Communion to All-Age lively worship, from quiet meditations to family workshops, from coffee mornings to home groups and discussions.
We hope to soon amalgamate with the parishes of Pawlett and Puriton to form a five parish benefice.
We are a ‘people on a journey’ and we are very aware of new things. Jesus can do amongst us if we travel together. It’s an exciting time and we’d love to share the journey with you too.
Incidentally, there is no dress code for church, some people dress up others wear jeans; it’s all fine. God loves us just as we are.
Everyone is welcome. None of us is too bad (or for that matter too good) for church.
